Edge reports watching Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson play a current PlayStation 5 build for 90 minutes. Rockstar told the magazine that Leonida’s map is roughly twice the size of GTA V’s and that its landmass is nearly as large as the playable maps of GTA IV, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined. The studio also described an order of magnitude more interiors and around 600,000 character animations.
The preview describes a Criminal Profile that ranges from Professional to Irredeemable and can influence Jason and Lucia’s story. Their relationship has its own four-point scale that can grow through time spent together, while the game still keeps them connected as partners in crime.
Police searches now depend on collected information such as clothing, weapons, CCTV footage, vehicles and whether the player had a partner. Changing clothes, dropping a weapon or splitting up can remove parts of that description. Edge also reports that some expensive stolen cars contain trackers and that the in-game WAINK app lists vehicles wanted by fences.
